Dr. Kelly Humphreys serves as the Principal of Bailey Charter Elementary School. She brings more than 30 years of experience in education, including 15+ years in educational leadership. This includes seven years as a principal, three years as a central office administrator, and six years serving as a director overseeing school psychology services.

Dr. Humphreys has lived and worked in Nevada since 2001, supporting schools and students across northern Nevada in a variety of roles. Earlier in her career, she worked in schools in Ohio and also spent a year living in Chile. In addition to her leadership roles, she served for 17 years as a school psychologist and has experience as a community-based mental health clinician.

Throughout her career, Dr. Humphreys has been committed to ensuring that all students have equitable access to high-quality instruction and the academic, social, and emotional supports needed to thrive. She has worked in a wide range of school communities, including a Paiute reservation elementary school and her current role leading Bailey Charter Elementary School, an independent public charter school serving a diverse Title I community.

Dr. Humphreys has also contributed to the preparation of future educators as an instructor in the Educational Leadership program at the University of Nevada, Reno and as a professional learning specialist supporting schools and districts. Her professional interests include strengthening family–school partnerships, expanding school-based mental health and social-emotional learning supports, arts integration, and fostering learning environments that support the development of the whole child. At Bailey Charter Elementary School, Dr. Humphreys works closely with staff, families, and community partners to cultivate a school culture grounded in kindness, strong relationships, and high expectations for all students.

Dr. Humphreys
